The Problem

Our client, a local sports coaching company, needed a staff rota system to fully integrate with their existing web application data and workflows. Off-the-shelf solutions were simply too generic and would not integrate well. Considering the fact that the company cared for a large number of children across the city it was critical that all information from the different databases was instantly accessible and fully integrated.
For example, if more places were booked in the eCommerce system, the staff rota system had to automatically update itself and indicate that more staff were needed on a sports activity session. The system then had to be able to validate the rota for a time period, making sure there were no staff conflicts, that staff-to-student ratios for sessions were correct and that the assigned staff had the right skills and certification for each sporting activity.

The Solution

Di9ital analysed the sports company’s existing web system and came up with an initial proposal, a system that would answer all of their requirements. Then, the sports coaching company team provided detailed feedback with suggestions that led to further fine tuning of the specification. At the same time, Di9ital took care to ensure the system’s long term maintainability and extensibility. Our client now has a well-integrated staff rota system that works seamlessly with the ecommerce, booking, HR and activity management systems. The management are happy, the children are safe and the staff have all necessary information to hand.
