Purpose People Podcast #9 – Let’s Talk No Code | Andrius Bartulis & Darrell Irwin
We get Andrius on the chair to talk all about the changes in the tech industry and how it’s pivoting to no code. Darrell also
With the passing of time and business growth, systems which were once well sync’ed to company needs become unfit for purpose. We use no code to help you bring everything up to date, fast.
Staff become frustrated with systems that are either too slow or unreliable, with systems crashing and data corruption. Similar problems might arise with multiple software packages that don’t work well together.
Implement the right business tech tools for your organisation’s unique needs, aligning with your vision and goals. Increase customer retention with tools that empower your team to deliver better, faster customer service and higher quality products
Carbon Savvy is run by Mukti Mitchell. Mukti is a sailor, carpenter marketeer and entrepreneur who designed and built an award-winning eco-yacht and sailed around Britain to promote low-carbon lifestyles in 2007. Mukti wanted to develop a carbon literacy campaign delivered through the brand ‘Carbon Savvy’ to get Britain carbon literate by summer 2021 as a prerequisite to effective decarbonisation.
The idea was to build a calculator to enable people to calculate emissions for their offices, employee travel, vehicles, IT server usage and more, following GHG protocol guidelines.
The solution that Mukti was working with had three problem areas:
1. There was no user registration and assignment system so there was no dashboard into which people could enter their data and see how well they were doing over time.
2. The user experience was disjointed as the calculators were not on one user system, they were designed in various styles using different technology. The users couldn’t see what they were entering.
3. It was difficult for central bodies, such as county councils to be able to track the statistics and actually see the various metrics being used.
Di9ital provided Mukti with three carbon calculators and a unified experience (everything on one platform) to answer his brief. People were thus able to discover their carbon footprint in as much as depth as they wanted and councils were able to view the data and the metrics easily.
For a quick answer, the Taster Calculator (which only takes 1 minute) allows people to see which of their lifestyle areas create the most and least CO2 in their lives. For more detail and accuracy, the Popular Calculator (which takes around 5 minutes) provides fuller details and some recommendations for improvements in your carbon footprint. The Full Calculator takes 45 minutes and goes into detail, reflecting the small changes you can make in your lifestyle to improve your carbon footprint.
The carbon calculator has become widely regarded as the world’s best online for the last 18 years.
“Using the Carbon Savvy Popular Calculator was a revelation – so clear and simple to use, with an immediate result enabling me to easily grasp my carbon footprint and providing me with ideas for how to start reducing it.”
– Councillor Rebecca Smith, Plymouth City Council
